In the class digital media production and specifically the video portion of the class I learned a lot about video editing with adobe premiere and how to use this software. I learned how to create a project and import a clip. You open a Premier project file by double clicking it or clicking open project in the start screen and selecting a file. You can also import media files by using the media browser panel. You find the file you liked to import, choose a location for the project file and click OK to import it. Once it’s imported you can edit it. You have to save your work as you edit it as it does not save automatically. You can save your work by clicking choose file and hitting save. It’s important to do this periodically. To close your project you hit file and click close project. I also learned a lot about the basic user interface, which you have to understand to use Adobe Premiere Pro. In the Panels section, each panel serves a specific purpose and you can resize or reposition them all. All panels are accessible in the windows menu. Workspaces are preset layouts with panels that display to help with particular tasks such as editing video or audio. You can reset a workspace by clicking the window, then workspace, and then reset to the saved layout. The active panel that is being used at any given time will have a blue highlight.
