Reflection Blog 5

While taking the course Digital Media Production and from working on three separate photo assignments I have gained knowledge about quite a few things about photography that I did not detail in my last blog post. I have learned that Flickr is a popular website that is used to host, display, and share photos online. We used Flickr in this class to upload all 75 photos that we took in the first part of our photo assignment. I did not know what Flickr was prior to taking this class but the website made it very easy to share my photos with the people in them and with the editors of The Herald when we were picking out what photos should accompany my story for that week’s edition of the newspaper. I also have learned recently that we use Flickr for The Herald to upload leftover photos from events that were not included in the accompanying week’s edition. I also learned that common photo file types are jpeg, png, and tiff. I am still unsure of what the difference is between photo file types. Before this class I had some knowledge of Photoshop, and although I am still a little scared of photo editing I feel that I have a grater knowledge of it now.
